The Ontario Fire Code requires that a Fire Safety Plan be prepared, approved and implemented in many different types of buildings. Owners are legally required to ensure this document is prepared and submitted to the local Fire Department for review and approval.
Fire Advisor Consulting Inc. will prepare a new Fire Safety Plan that is unique to your building or we will revise / update your existing one.
We will also prepare schematic floor plan drawings identifying all pertinent fire and life safety information that is specific to your building design.
Fire Advisor Consulting Inc. will submit the Fire Safety Plan to the local Fire Department and deal directly with the Fire Department on your behalf to get your Fire Safety Plan approved.

Part 9 - Retrofit of the Ontario Fire Code is applicable to specific types of existing buildings and outlines requirements to bring these buildings up to a minimum level of fire and life safety standards.
There are requirements for the following types of buildings which are outlined in Part 9 - Retrofit of the Ontario Fire Code:
- Assembly Occupancies
- Boarding, Lodging and Rooming Houses
- Healthcare Facilities
- Buildings With Residential Occupancies (Up to and Including 6 Storeys / Higher than 6 Storeys)

The Ontario Fire Code identifies requirements for fire drills to be carried out in buildings. The frequency with which fire drills are required to be executed is based on the type of occupancy in your building. A fire drill may be required annually, quarterly or monthly (or more in the case of a school).
Fire Advisor Consulting Inc. will discuss your specific fire drill requirements with you and attend your building to observe an actual fire drill. We will evaluate the drill and debrief participants after the drill to identify strengths and areas that need improvement.

The Ontario Fire Code indicates that at least one copy of the fire emergency procedures shall be prominently posted and maintained on each floor area.

The Ontario Fire Code has requirements concerning the maximum amount of people that are permitted to occupy a room, space or floor area in a building.
Fire Advisor Consulting Inc. can assist you with determining what the maximum occupant load is for rooms and spaces within your building.
We will conduct an analysis to determine your occupant load requirements and will advise you on the number of people that your space can accommodate to remain compliant with the law.
